Don’t ask me how I landed on this keyword but when I checked this keyword’s searches per month on Google, and I was zapped to see on users search this EXACT keyword “How to Get pregnant” 200,000 times. Four letter words normally do not get such searches on Google but thought let me just share it with readers.

Another shock, in the organic search sites that were on top are from Mahalo and article directory sites. This lead to another insight that promoting any niche thru article sites is not a bad idea considering article sites have PR 6.

Hope I am making some sense here for people to understand thought process behind such niches.

Anyways, I am waiting to close one mega media buying on Yahoo this month. More details later….

After a nice long week end, I thought let me just fill some post on SEO knowledge base. After on page optimization, only thing left is off page optimization. But with evolution of Big G alogorithm every now and then, it becomes important to generate quality links to your site (Essential if its new site). Directory submission is slowly and slowly becoming obsolete nowadays and Article submission is gaining popularity.

Two things to Remember before you blast Article submission sites with articles -

1. Age since live date - Would not encourage if your domain is new and site has just gone live.

2. Do not spam article submission sites. Be patient and take one or max two links to your site in question.

In SEO, one of the first and foremost rule is-

“Content is King & Link is Queen”

This means, website is truly from SEO perspective when King and Queen meets on regular intervals. There has to be a right mix of both content and links on your website for Google to crawl your website on regular intervals and weigh your originality on content and how many backlinks you have received.

Google's Search behavior

Recently, i have come across Google’s search behavior evolution from what it was in 2005 and what is now. I guess picture speaks lot than words so i would leave up to the folks to interpret how important is to appear on top search search results.

Even harder to get that postition and hence it is becoming even challenging to crack your best keywords to drive traffic to your website.

Two days back, Google has removed one of our website from organic results. Later when we checked sitemap and cached results in web master tool, we found that Google crawler was not been able to reach our website.

Reason were:

Google’s crawler IP has been blocked at the ISP level

Website was unreachable when Google crawler was trying to visit the website

And indeed, we have blocked certain IPs in order to prevent to spoofing on our website and in that spree we have blocked certain Google’s data center IPs.

What impact does it make is, we have unblocked all IPs, Google crawler came and crawled our website within 1 hour but unfortunately impact was such that website is still not showing on keywords we were appearing on top position. Not even on domain name search.

Quantifiable loss, 5% traffic that comes on brand.

Gain- Our niche website strategy to capture brand search traffic showed up on top and hence we saved traffic and Business.

So Guys, please be careful while blocking any IP to prevent spoofing attack at the firewall end, make sure that we should not block the search engine IPs by any means.
